Awakened Householder: Reclaiming the World as Sacred Ground

The unrelenting demands of a householder—raising three children, earning one’s bread, holding together the fabric of family—often make the work of a spiritual teacher feel, in comparison, like a retreat from the raw, unpredictable currents of home.

What does it truly mean to live awakening amid family, community, and the complexities of life? How does awakened embodiment express itself relationally, responsibly and creatively in an uncertain, fragile, and living world?

This upcoming live Q&A Darshan on May 2nd, 2026 invites a deep inquiry into awakening that unfolds not somewhere on the fringes of life but in the intimacy and immediacy of it – in the very roles we find ourselves in. Through the lens of Igor Kufayev’s lived experience, this dialogue will explore the marvels and trials of an extraordinary, arduous and truly noble path—the tantric path of Gṛhastha, the householder.

Rather than framing awakening as a private or peak experience, the conversation opens into something more whole and inclusive — the transparency of the awakened householder’s life: where the raw elements of the worldly become infused with the divine, through the vulnerable and gritty, without renunciation or bypass.

Walking this path means balancing on the razor’s edge—where devotion meets discernment, grace meets discipline, and inner realisation must be matched by outer transformation — ultimately in service of the whole.

The event will take place via Zoom. A recording will be available for everyone, including those unable to join live, to watch as many times as you like until the next online event is aired.

About Igor Kufayev

Artist, Advaita Tantra teacher and founder of the not-for-profit organisation Flowing Wakefulness, Igor Kufayev has been serving as a conduit of transmission for awakening, towards the new era of heart-centred consciousness for over two decades.
